Last Friday, 2nd of June, the Arab Educational Institute/ Pax Christi Bethlehem, represented by its Co- presidents Mr. Fuad Giacaman and Mr. Elias Abu Akleh and the Youth Program coordinator Mr. Roger Salameh participated in a panel discussion organized by Kairos Palestine with His Beatitude Patriarch Michael Sabah – Patriarch of the People on the occasion of his ninetieth birthday and in honor of his thought, work and just positions for peace and justice to the Palestinian people. The chair persons of the dialogue were Rev. Professor Mitri Al-Raheb – Founder and President of Dar Al-Kalima University /Bethlehem, Mr. Nassar Ibrahim – A Writer, journalist and Director of the Alternative Information Center /Palestine and the General Coordinator of Kairos Palestine Mr. Rif’at Qassis.
During the interventions and questions section, Mr. Fuad Giacaman spoke about the importance and activities of the AEI program entitled: “Citizenship and Diversity: Christian/Muslim Living Together in Palestine”. He highlighted the program’s role in consolidating the values of responsible and equal citizenship, the importance of which was emphasized by His Beatitude in his answers to the questions of the attendees.
During the reception, which was attended by a group of local religious leaders from the different churches, AEI delivered a symbolic gift to His Beatitude, expressing thanks and appreciation for this inspiring religious figure.
