Bethlehem, Palestine – A youth delegation from the Arab Educational Institute (AEI) – Pax Christi Bethlehem, led by Mr. Roger Salameh, Head of AEI Projects, returned from a transformative cultural exchange program in Estonia. The program, titled “Together in Motion,” brought together young participants from Palestine and five European countries – Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Bulgaria, and Estonia – aimed at promoting mental and physical well-being through collaborative activities and cultural engagement.
In Estonia, the group immersed themselves in the dynamic exchange, participating in workshops, sports, and movement-based activities designed to foster teamwork and mutual understanding.
“This program was an incredible opportunity for our youth to engage with peers from diverse backgrounds,” said Mr. Salameh. “They not only shared their own culture but also embraced the richness of others, building bridges of understanding and cooperation.”
The AEI youth left Estonia with newfound friendships and invaluable experiences, inspired by the unity and collaboration they witnessed throughout the program. “We’ve learned so much—about teamwork, communication, and the importance of cultural exchange,” said one of the participants. “These are lessons we’re eager to bring back to our communities in Palestine.”
The “Together in Motion” program proved to be more than just an exchange; it was a platform for meaningful dialogue and cross-cultural learning. By focusing on the universal language of movement, the participants found ways to connect despite their different backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and mutual respect.
The AEI delegation’s participation underscores the vital role of cultural exchange in bridging divides and nurturing global citizenship. The youth returned home not only enriched but also determined to apply their new insights to enhance community collaboration and intercultural understanding in Palestine.
