The Arab Educational Institution (AEI) and the Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development (reform) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Governor of Hebron, Major General Jibrin Al-Bakri on Thursday at the governorate headquarters.
The MOU comes within the project “Palestinian Women: Early Warning and Mediation Systems to Prevent Conflicts in the Hebron Area H2” in the presence of Muhammad Al-Jabari, Head of the Civil Peace and Security Unit and Representatives of the Ministry of Social Development in Hebron and Yatta.
The project, funded by the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF), aims to build safe societies, respond to the needs of women, and institutionalize an early warning system that monitors violations that affect civil peace in the governorate. The MOU aims to ensure the sustainability of the project’s outcomes even after the project is completed.
The AEI implements the project in partnership with the Women’s Activity Association (WAA) and in cooperation with the Palestinian Association for Empowerment and Local Development and the Rural Women’s Development Society.
Governor Al Bakri stressed the importance of institutionalizing this system by forming a coordinating committee in the governorate that exercises its functions in integration with civil institutions within the framework of strengthening civil peace and raising the ability of women to intervene in early warning the competent authorities about local conflicts.
AEI Director Mrs. Rania Murra emphasized that this MOU aims to ensure the sustainability of the early warning and response system, which contributes to the effective participation of women in the Hebron H2 region in preventing conflicts.
