Beginning of the Academic Year Activities of the “Citizenship and Diversity: Christian/Muslim living together in Palestine” AEI Program

The General Director of the Ministry of Education Directorate in Bethlehem, Mrs. Nisreen Amro, and Arab Educational Institute co-president opened a training workshop for teachers at the Greek Catholic School Hall – Beit Sahour, in the presence of the Head of the Supervision Department, Mr. Walid Radwan, the supervisor of Islamic religious education, Mr. Medhat Qaraqe, and the supervisor of the Christian religious education, Mrs. Abeer Khair.

Teachers and principals of the participating public and private schools also attended the meeting.

The workshop included a presentation for the program and its goals, the first-semester plan, and a discussion on the concepts of justice, equality, and peace as basic pillars for achieving national unity, freedom, and building a state of citizenship.

The workshop also included a presentation about the teaching materials in the Palestinian curriculum that talk about the concepts of citizenship, diversity, and living together. The workshop ended with a lunch in an atmosphere of fraternal harmony.
