The Arab Educational Institute held a training workshop for teachers which marked the beginning of the academic year activities of the “Citizenship and Diversity: Christian/Muslim living together in Palestine” Program at Za’rur Restaurant Hall – Ramallah.
The General Director of the Ministry of Education Directorate in Ramallah, Mr. Basim ‘Arikat, and Arab Educational Institute co-president, Mr. Fouad Giacaman, welcomed the guests and delivered opening remarks, in the presence of the Head of the Supervision Department, Mr. Subhi Al Hamadani, the two supervisors of the social studies, Mr. Isma’il Issa, and Mrs. Viana Al Deek.
Teachers and principals of the participating public and private schools also attended the meeting.
The workshop included a presentation for the program and its goals, the first-semester plan, and a discussion about the negative effects of the Corona pandemic crisis and ways to overcome them.
In addition, a discussion took place about the online and face-to-face students’ joint lessons about the topics of the pandemic. The workshop also included a presentation about the teaching materials in the Palestinian curriculum that talk about the concepts of citizenship, diversity, and living together. The workshop ended with a lunch in an atmosphere of fraternal harmony.
